Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup (350 grams) Seedless dates
- 1/3 cup (50 grams) Almonds
- 1/3 cup (50 grams) Pistachios
- 1/3 cup (50 grams) Walnuts
- 1/3 cup (50 grams) Cashews
- 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1/4 cup (30 grams) Desiccated coconut
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Method:
- Cut the dates in pieces and pulse them in mixer grinder to form a paste.
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and roast the dates for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
- Chop the dry fruits in small pieces or you can also use a food processor and pulse. Make sure that they don't become powdery.
- Take 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and roast the poppy seeds on low flame for a minute. Now add the desiccated coconut and roast that too on low flame for 2-3 minutes or till you get a nice aroma.
- Now add the chopped dry fruits and roast on low flame till the mixture turns golden in color. Make sure not to burn them. Stir continuously.
- Add the dates paste and cardamom powder to the above roasted dry fruits mixture and using a spatula combine them well to form a lump.
- Remove the mixture from heat and grease your palms with ghee. Shape the mixture to form a log.
- Spread some poppy seeds on a flat surface and roll the log on it so that the poppy seeds stick to the logs surface.
- Place the mixture on a parchment paper or aluminum foil and roll and cover.
- Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
- Take the log out and cut in circles and serve.
Notes:
- You can use any dry fruits as per your choice.
