Ingredients:
- 140 grams all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- 120 grams thick yogurt
- Pizza sauce as required
- Toppings of your choice (bell pepper, onions, corn, olives ,etc)
- 2 tbsp oil
Method:
- Dough Preparation
- Take the all purpose flour in a bowl and add baking soda to it and mix.
- Now add the yogurt and mix with a spoon.
- Now use your hands to bring them together.
- Dust the worktop with flour and knead the dough for at-least 3-4 minutes.
- Add more dry flour, if required.
- Divide the dough in 2 parts.
- Stove top PIZZA
- Take 1st part of the dough and dust it with flour and roll it using a rolling pin to form a circle. You can even roll roughly and then cut out a circle using a plate or big size bowl.
- Heat a pan on medium high heat.
- Brush the pan with 1 tbsp of oil and place the rolled dough on it.
- Cook the base for 2 minutes or until the base is golden brown.
- Flip it and apply pizza tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and toppings of your choice.
- Sprinkle dried oregano and basil and close the lid of the pan.
- Cook for 3 minutes on low flame or until the cheese melts.
- Your 5 minutes pan pizza is ready to be served.
- Oven baked PIZZA
- Take the 2nd dough ball and dust with flour. Roll it using a rolling pin to make a circle.
- Heat a pan on medium high heat.
- Brush the pan with 1 tbsp of oil and place the rolled dough on it. (optional)
- You can even directly place the pizza dough on the pizza stone or baking tray with your favorite toppings and bake it.
- Cook the base for 2 minutes or until the base is golden brown. Flip it and place the dough on a baking sheet and brush the sides with oil and bake at 230 C for 3 minutes on the top rack.
- Take the Pizza out and do the toppings of your choice and bake for 5 minutes @230 C on the top rack.
- Your oven baked pizza is ready to be served.
- Notes:
- If baking soda is unavailable you can use 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder or even use self raising flour for this recipe.
- Toppings can vary as per choice.
- In the baking method placing the dough on stove top and baking the other side without topping for 3 minutes is completely optional but I feel it gives a nice crunchy crust to the pizza.
- You can skip the stove top part and bake directly too.
