Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 cup (225 grams) all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup yogurt
- 3/4 (150 grams) cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup strawberries cut to pieces (few cut vertically for decoration)
Method:
- Take a wide bottomed bowl and add yogurt and baking soda to it.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes the yogurt will become frothy.
- Add the sugar to yogurt and soda mixture.
- Add vanilla essence.
- Now sift the all purpose flour and baking powder using a sieve.
- Mix using the cut and fold method.
- Add lemon juice.
- Now add the chopped strawberries to the batter and gently mix them.
- Pour the batter in a spring form pan lined with parchment paper.
- Tab to remove any air bubbles.
- Now arrange the strawberry pieces on the battery to make a pattern as shown in the picture.
- Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 30-35 minutes.
- Check whether the cake is cooked or not by inserting a skewer and it should come out clean.
- Your strawberry cake is ready to be served.
Note: Since, every oven is different and the temperature varies, do keep a check.
