Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (100 grams) samak rice/moriyo/samo rice
- 1 liter full fat milk
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp chopped dry fruits
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 7-8 saffron strands soaked in 2 tbsp milk
Method:
- Wash and soak the samak rice for 1 hour.
- Meanwhile add 1 liter of full fat milk in thick bottomed pan and bring it to boil stirring at intervals.
- Once the milk is boiled add the soaked samak rice and stir at intervals
- Add the saffron milk
- After 10 minutes add chopped dry fruits and mix.
- When the samak is cooked check by smashing it between your fingers. If it is getting mashed then add sugar. Otherwise stir for another 5 minutes.
- Now add the cardmom powder and stir.
- Garnish with more dryfruits and serve.
- Samak kheer tastes great when chilled.
