Ingredients:
For Milk Mixture:
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 cup Heavy Cream/Whipping Cream
- 1/2 tbsp Agar Agar Powder
- 1/2 cup Sugar (90 grams)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
For Strawberry Puree:
- 2 Cups Strawberry (250 grams)
- 1/2 tbsp Agar Agar Powder
- 1/2 cup Sugar (90 grams)
- 2 tbsp Water
- 2 tbsp Hot Water(for Agar Agar)
Method:
- Heat a pan and add diced strawberries, water and sugar in it.
- Cook till the strawberries become tender/soft.
- Let it cool little and blend it to a smooth puree.
- Strain the puree.
- Take 1/2 tbsp agar agar powder in a bowl and add 2 tbsp hot water to it.
- Stir to avoid lumps and let it cool.
- Once cooled add it to the strained strawberry puree.
- Take a Cupcake/Muffin tray and place a kitchen towel on it.
- Place the serving glass in tilted position.
- Whisk well and pour it in a tilted glass so that half side of the glass is covered with strawberry puree.(watch video for more clarity)
- Place in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours or until set.
- Now heat milk, heavy cream and sugar in a pan.
- Make sure not to boil the mixture.
- Once hot add the agar agar powder and whisk well to avoid lumps.
- Cook till the mixture thickens.
- Now add the vanilla extract and mix.
- Let it cool.
- Once the strawberry puree is set pour the milk mixture to the remaining half side and set in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours or until set.
- Enjoy the delicious strawberry panna cotta.
Notes:
- You can even layer the strawberry puree and white cream can be done differently by pouring each part horizontally.
- Panna Cotta can also be prepared by mixing the milk cream and strawberry puree.
- In this recipe I have used Agar Agar powder which is a vegetarian alternative to Gelatin. It is easily available in grocery stores.
